PPP Boss Responds to Double Taxation Claims Over Rironi-Mau Summit Toll
The Director General of the Public Private Partnerships (PPP) Directorate, Kefa Seda, has defended the proposed Ksh8 per kilometre toll charges on the Rironi-Mau Summit Highway amid concerns that motorists will be forced to pay twice to use the road. Seda on Saturday, November 7, dismissed claims of double taxation, arguing that road tolls are different from taxes because motorists only pay when they use a designated toll road. The latest clarification comes after a Kenyan raised concerns over the proposed charges, questioning why motorists would be required to pay toll fees despite already contributing to the Road Maintenance Levy Fund (RMLF).
