'Why bring the waste to us?' – Annoh-Dompreh questions Agbogbloshie waste plan for Nsawam
Minority Chief Whip and Nsawam-Adoagyiri MP Frank Annoh-Dompreh has demanded that the Minister for Local Government appear before Parliament to explain the haulage of waste from Agbogbloshie to a landfill near Nsawam. Speaking on the floor of the House on Friday, November 6, Annoh-Dompreh questioned why his Eastern Region constituency was chosen to receive evacuated waste heaps from Agbogbloshie when a major waste treatment plant already operates closer to Accra at Amasaman. "Why is it that Amasaman has a big waste treatment plant and you jump Amasaman and bring all the waste to his home? Why? What is my wrong?" he asked.
