Africa World Airlines denies technical fault and passenger evacuation at Kumasi Airport
Africa World Airlines (AWA) says social media claims that one of its planes had a technical fault and passengers were evacuated at Prempeh I International Airport in Kumasi are false. In a statement on Saturday, November 7, the airline asked the public and the media to ignore the posts. Posts circulating online had alleged that an AWA aircraft experienced a mechanical failure on the tarmac in Kumasi, forcing an emergency evacuation of travellers. The airline, which recently marked its 13th anniversary, said no such incident took place.
