Speaker Bagbin urges Parliamentary Committee Leaders to put national interest above partisan politics
The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has urged leaders of Parliamentary Committees to prioritise the national interest over partisan politics and ensure that laws passed by Parliament serve the best interests of Ghanaians. He gave the charge at a training workshop for Committee Leaders on the theme, “Strengthening Parliamentary Committee Leadership.” Speaker Bagbin cautioned Members of Parliament against rushing legislation through Parliament, stressing that the quality of laws must take precedence over the number of bills passed.
