Police hunt Chitungwiza man accused of killing mother with hammer
POLICE in Harare are searching for a 44-year-old Chitungwiza man who is wanted in connection with the murder of his 72-year-old mother. In a statement, Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) national spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi, said Bob Nobert Luwaca is being sought for the murder of Rosemary Luwaca in Unit L, Chitungwiza, on November 5, 2026. According to police, the suspect allegedly struck his mother twice on the head with a six-pound hammer following a domestic dispute before fleeing the scene. “The weapon believed to have been used in the murder was recovered at the scene,” Commissioner Nyathi said.
