NEC dismisses online voter registration link as fake, says registration will be physical
The National Elections Commission (NEC) has dismissed an online voter registration link circulating on social media as fake, saying eligible South Sudanese will be required to register in person at designated centres ahead of the December 2026 general elections. Hon. Josephine Achiro Fortelo, a commissioner of the National Elections Commission, said the Commission had not developed any website or mobile application for online voter registration. Speaking to Eye Radio on Friday, November 6, Fortelo urged eligible citizens to disregard the circulating link and wait for the Commission’s official announcement of the registration exercise.
