NUP Distances Itself From Nalubowa’s Meeting With Museveni
The National Unity Platform (NUP) has distanced itself from a meeting between its member Rose Nalubowa and President Yoweri Museveni, saying the party was neither consulted nor informed about the engagement. In a statement issued on Saturday, November 7, the party said it learnt about the meeting through Nalubowa's public remarks, in which she disclosed that she had met Museveni following the recent elections. “Our attention has been brought to comments made by Hon. Rose Nalubowa by which she stated that she met with Gen. Yoweri Museveni, who according to her, summoned her after elections,” the statement reads. The party said it had no prior knowledge of the engagement and was not involved in arranging it.
