Fashion Students Urged to Embrace Traditional Designs to Preserve Cultural Heritage
Nalinya Agnes Zalwango has urged students pursuing vocational and fashion design courses, particularly tailoring, to embrace traditional clothing designs as a way of promoting and preserving cultural heritage. She noted that culture is rich and diverse, adding that its beauty and value can also be expressed through the different clothing designs created by fashion designers. Nalinya made the remarks during the 19th annual fashion exhibition at Buganda Royal Institute of Technical Business in Kakeeka, Mengo, where students showcased various designs as part of their practical training.
