Ntungamo District Launches Shs 89.87m Maintenance Works on Kahunga–Kyangara Road
Ntungamo District Local Government has launched maintenance works on the 9.6-kilometre Kahunga–Kyangara Road in Ntungamo Sub-county at a cost of Shs 89.87 million. The road, which connects Kahunga Trading Centre to Kyangara, had gone nearly four years without meaningful maintenance, leaving it in a deplorable state. Deep ditches, potholes and severely damaged sections had made it difficult for motorists, cyclists and boda boda riders to use. The poor condition of the road had also affected farmers' ability to transport coffee, beans and bananas to markets while limiting residents' access to healthcare, education and places of worship.
