Fiifi Boafo declares bid to contest Tarkwa-Nsuaem NPP parliamentary primary

Former Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) Director of Public Affairs Fiifi Boafo has declared his intention to contest the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primary in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency of the Western Region. Boafo announced his bid in a short video message released to the media on Thursday, November 5, seeking the party's ticket to reclaim the mining constituency in the 2028 general election. His declaration falls within the party's new pre-primary window, under which NPP parliamentary aspirants have until November 10 to declare interest and pay GH¢5,000. Boafo could face former Tarkwa-Nsuaem MP George Mireku Duker, who is expected to pursue the NPP ticket again after losing the seat in 2024.
