Afienya tipper truck drivers accuse military personnel of shootings and brutal assaults
Military personnel enforcing sand-winning restrictions at Afienya in Greater Accra shot and assaulted truck drivers, the National Sand and Stone Tipper Truck Drivers Association has alleged. The association alleged on Thursday, November 5, that several people suffered gunshot wounds and other serious injuries during the raid, leaving some victims in critical condition at the Tema General Hospital. The complaints follow a media briefing on Monday, November 2, at which sand and stone truck operators accused security personnel of assaults and truck seizures across several sites in the corridor.
