Ejisu queen mother says no government has rebuilt the Yaa Asantewaa Museum

Nana Yaa Asantewaa II, Paramount Queen Mother of Ejisu, says successive governments have left the Yaa Asantewaa Museum unrestored since a fire destroyed it in July 2004. She said so at the launch of the maiden Yaa Asantewaa Festival. The Ejisu Traditional Council will hold it from Thursday, December 24 to Sunday, December 27, and use it to raise the money itself. "Since the facility got burnt, we reported the incident to the government and looked forward to seeing action and development, but up until now, nothing has been done," she said. She said the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has approved the festival.
