Governor of Central Bank of Libya, Abu Khazam, takes legal oath before House of Representatives
The new Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Fawzi Abu Khazam, took the legal oath before the Speaker of the House of Representatives and several members of the House today. This action was taken in accordance with the House of Representatives' resolution dated 2 November 2, 2026, appointing him as Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, and serves to fulfil the legal requirements for him to assume his official duties. The CBL said this step comes at a critical juncture that demands the strengthening of monetary and financial stability, the consolidation of confidence in the banking sector, and the development of monetary policy instruments.
