Minister warrants secure investment environment
Industrialisation, Business, Trade and Tourism Minister Simon Itaye has pledged the government’s commitment to address challenges hindering local production in order to increase export volumes. Itaye said this after touring Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) Malawi factory at Kanengo in Lilongwe City on Tuesday. Itaye said the government was engaging small and medium entrepreneurs to venture into the production of materials needed for manufacturing and support the import substitution drive. He said large manufacturers, such as CCBA, were facing forex challenges as they were relying on the importation of some raw materials in their operations.
