Somalia: Xiisad Amni Oo Ka Taagan Magaalada Beledweyne Iyadoo Ciidamada Milatariga Loo Dirayo Deganaanshaha Hoggaamiye Dhaqameedka Ku Dhow
BELEDWEYNE, Somalia — Security tensions have escalated in Beledweyne, the capital of Somalia’s Hiiraan region, amid the presence of Hirshabelle Vice President Abdifatah Hassan Afrah, opposition politicians, and traditional leader Ugaas Yusuf Ugaas Hassan Ugaas. Somali National Army (SNA) troops and National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) personnel have reportedly arrived at the residence of Ugaas Yusuf Ugaas Hassan. The development follows a statement he made last night urging members of his clan serving on the front lines to withdraw from their positions, as tensions between the Hirshabelle administration and the people of Hiiraan continue to intensify.
